Desterio is an accomplished Nairobi-based lawyer with over 46 years of experience as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He is currently the Managing Partner of Shapley Barret & Co. Advocates, one of Kenya’s oldest legal firms.

Mr Oyatsi serves as the Deputy Group Chairman of NCBA Group Plc. He is also the Chairman of Base Titanium Limited, which manages the largest mining operation in Kenya and Chairman of Musiara Limited, a subsidiary of Wilderness Holdings Limited. Additionally, he is a Director of Tawi Lodge Limited.

Mr. Oyatsi has a rich history of leadership in various industries. He was a Commissioner of the Kenya Law Reform Commission from 2002 to 2012, a Director of Telkom Kenya Limited from 1999 to 2002 and a Director of the Capital Markets Authority from 1998 to 2002. He also served as Chairman of Commercial Bank of Africa from 2012 to 2020 and as a Director of Kenol Kobil Limited from 2001 to 2017.
